
Stud Quality Sheep Pedi / Bapedi Sheep are low-care fat-tailed hair sheep that are indigenous to the north-eastern parts of South Africa, arriving here about 2,000 years ago. If they are correctly maintained to preserve the natural selection criteria the breed has been subjected to for most of this time, they are immune against about anything that plague sheep in the area: * Heartwater * Most sheep diseases * Ticks and * Worms We have been breeding these sheep since 1990 and have kept them pure. Using our formal Genetic knowledge, we have also maintained the necessary genetic variation and the hardiness the breed is known for. With careful selection, we have been able to breed a sheep that is economical. Our adult rams weigh about 70Kg and our adult ewes about 45Kg. Based on Kg meat produced /ha /input costs, they are unbeatable. They are ideal for the smallholder as they eat about anything vegetative.
